Plantng Seeds

Image
“To forget how to dig the earth and tend the soil is to forget ourselves.” —  Mahatma Gandhi You may have heard about my community garden plot, because I've been so excited after not vegetable gardening in over 25 years! So here I go, planting seeds in the soil that will eventually sprout with growth, colour, and produce. Planting is an act of eager anticipation, inviting me to stay attentive to surroundings, weeding and watering, until the rewards arrive. One can take this metaphorically. Plant seeds of future relationships by making a welcoming gesture of friendship. Plant seeds of future opportunity by learning something new. Plant seeds for future joy by planning an event or researching a trip. We are all gardeners -- agents of not just our own renewal, but for all who reap in the results of our plantings. “Gardening is cheaper than therapy – and you get potatoes!” —  Anonymous Photos from my community garden patch, Saskatoon, SK. 2022.

Whale of a Tale

Image
A recent flight had us landing in Vancouver. I spotted a whale in the coastal waters waaayyyy down beneath my feet! I had my camera ready as we descended, and that incredibly fast swimming whale kept up! Until, remarkably, it transformed its fins and tail into wings... of an airplane. Scroll down to see the ma gic.     Have I mentioned that I love shadows? They are cast by the light that surrounds us.  😀
