Nothing to Fear?
The glass floor provided a clear view of my fear of heights. It was safe, because the evidence was also clear; everyday hundreds walk or even jump on the thick glass floor of the CN Tower. They haven't fallen through, yet! The physical danger wasn't real, so my anxiety was a choice, or a habit. Our creative minds can produce positive thoughts or negative worries all in the same moment. The body has its own vast intelligence, likely engrained from our cave days. Some fears are important to keep us alive. But, the body, like my trembling knees, may not tell the difference between what is ‘real’ or imagined; it will react to our thoughts. Even the powerful placebo effect shows us that our cells are listening to our thoughts and beliefs. Sometimes you have to take a leap of faith.
